We did meet outside again, which turned out not too bad. I think the temp was close to 60!
Not everyone was cold...although, I didn't get a picture of Marty or I! HA
These are really interesting and a great way to keep your mind and hands busy!
This poor picture is/was looking for a home! If you have second thoughts about it, get with Carol!
Mary is busy with grands and great grands as usual. She is our idol for sure when it comes to being Grandma of the year! And she has also been doing quite a lot of canning!
Mary is known for cutting up her quilts so this is a perfect suggestion! Can't wait to see what she does!
Lois Ann is keeping in shape by bike riding 5 days a week and walking with hubby! You never know when she may show up at your door step on her bike!
She also was riding each Wednesday at the Waterford Racing track. They would have 20 or 40 minute time events, which LA was coming in at 21 mph (5 laps). Pretty good, right...but on September 9th, our girl finished with a 22.9 for one hour timed lap! Woohoo!!! And she beat out all these men too!!
Lois Ann is also chasing away varmints from her garden so she is able to can all those vegetables and fruit! Plus, she's taking some great pictures of the sunflowers in her garden Kendal planted last year and some of the animals planted as well!
Love seeing LA's work!
Marty found this little card inside an old book. She gave it to Mary. It was signed "Martha".
You can see the two photo's I used in this piece. The photo on the left was printed on photo paper and the right side was printed on regular copy paper.
We used tissue paper for the vase and flower and then stitched over lines and added stitching lines where we wanted on our IPC background. I just put some stitching on the left side and bottom right.
I finished two more shawls. This is a beaded one by Laura Nelkin.
This is another lace pattern by Laura. I still don't know how she can design these! This one started off with 11 stitches!!!
This was a stencil collage piece we did in Hilary's online class. The background is a paper I made a few months ago with stamping; the green was a traced stencil that I cut out areas with Xacto knife; I didn't like it as a whole piece so I sliced it and attached to a canvas. I think it's around a 11"x 14" size canvas. Check out my thimble pad in use.
This is a 'thimble pad' I made and which I used to attach my piece above to the canvas. Here is a link to the video on how to make one. It's very easy and quick to make! And it works!
I've found a new photo transfer paper, which is really nice to use on fabric and on paper! Doesn't crack on the fabric, which is nice. And if you want an even lighter transfer, you can remove the printed photo from the paper backing and iron directly on your paper/fabric (using parchment on top!). Good price too.
Here's a link to the Heat Erasable Fabric Marking Pens I found. They work great and a set contains four different colors (red, blue, black and white). Good price too ($9.99)...I sound like an ad! No, I'm not an employee for Madam Sew...just Suzie Secretary for our Aussome group!!! Until Next Month!
